we are indeed in debt to all bankers.

Irrespective of who Labour are for the demographic attending WHU used to be [ back in the 1950s ] almost entirely from the manual working classes whether laborers or craftsmen.

I bet there are not many, in terms of percentages, in that category now.

Very true Comma.

After the decline of manufacturing, we've been saved by the City Boys. We owe them.

Nice thread, suits the agenda of the mods I guess.

"I was far more left-leaning before I joined this board."

That was probably just down in an inner ear infection or just being pissed.

True but labour aren't for the working class anymore.

Despising the rich isn't the same as helping the poor

We were a working class club and indeed football used to be a working class game.

Not now though because that's all gone forever.

Has anyone ever been influenced by another's political opinions on here except to react against it?

We're a Southern club, therefore Tory. May I recommend a Northern club for the work-shy lefties?

"I don't think it's even possible within the error margins of the current polls"

You're probably right & certainly most likely & I wouldn't spend any money on betting against it.

Impossible, no, I wouldn't go that far even if nothing drastic happens in the remaining days.

From memory the polls in 1992 were similar in how close it was albeit with not as many fragmented parties in the frame as there are now. Amazingly,Major ended up pulling more votes in actual number terms than any PM in history whilst Kinnock was giving the real impression he was PM in waiting.

Likewise many if not all the polls in the Scottish ref were showing a closer vote than it turned out to be.

When polling day comes I think there possibly will be an awful lot of people switching & voting not for what they really want, but what they don't want.

Not long to find out.

Well things do change - it's not long ago that Labour had nearly twice as many seats in England than the Tories. The likelihood of either getting a majority this time is remote - I don't think it's even possible within the error margins of the current polls. So something would have to drastically change.

The last 5 years have been a lot easier for me than the 5 years prior. Is that not the case for everyone prepared to work hard?

The 7th May, isn't it?

Can't wait...

Alex

In theory your right but with the Jock vote gone it's very unlikely that the Labour Party would ever be the largest party because of the amount of safe Tory seats in England. They wouldn't change if Labour knocked on the door with cash.
